*Making Inferences
*Cause and Effect
*Identifying the Main Idea & Details
*Fact Opinion
*Locating Specific Information
*Predicting Outcomes
Students will be also be reading a variety of Genres during the course of the year. This includes:
*Historical Fiction *Autobiographies
*Realistic Fiction *Fiction
*Nonfiction/Informational *Fairy Tales
Your child's independent "just right" level is measured through the use of Teacher's college Reading Assessments. Each child is given their independent level so that they are given the opportunity to read books that are not "too easy" or "too hard" for them. Students bookshop from their leveled basket on a weekly basis. During that time, they are also given the opportunity to bookshop books that they find interesting and "fun" to read.
